WHAT TO EXPECT
North West Church of Christ is located at 2817 12th Avenue in downtown Regina. Our gathering space is in the heart of the city, making it easy to find and access for those joining us.
When you park in the parking lot of the new YWCA on a Sunday morning, you’ll see us worshiping through the windows. If you need more instructions, the folks who work at the coffee shop when you go through the front doors can point you in the right direction. We sing songs, pray, and listen to a sermon. Find a seat and introduce yourself to someone after!
Sunday worship runs about an hour. We sing together — voices only, no instruments — share in the Lord's Supper, and hear a teaching from the Bible. The singing is 100% congregational, four-part harmony, unaccompanied. It's unlike most church experiences and people usually find it moving.
We tend to linger. Coffee, conversation, and usually someone who wants to hear your story. There's no pressure to fill out a card or sign anything. Come, experience it, and take your time deciding if Northwest feels like home to you.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Is there a giving expectation for visitors?
None whatsoever. Offering is a personal act of worship for our members. If you're visiting, please don't feel any pressure. Simply come and be our guest.
Do I need to be baptised to attend?
Not at all. Anyone is welcome at our Sunday services. Communion is shared among baptised believers, but our services are fully open to anyone who wants to worship with us, regardless of where they are in their faith journey.
What exactly is acappella worship?
It means we sing without musical instruments — voices only. This is a practice from the early church that Churches of Christ have maintained. It creates a unique, participatory experience where the whole congregation becomes the music.
How long is the service?
Bible classes begin at 9:00 am, followed by worship at 10:00 am. The service is usually about an hour long, sometimes a little longer.
Is there anything for children?
Children are welcome in the main worship service. While we do not currently offer a dedicated children’s programme during worship, Bible classes for all ages are available during the 9:00 am Bible class hour.
What do you believe?
We follow the Bible as our only guide for faith and practice. We believe in the authority of scripture, salvation through faith and baptism, and the weekly gathering to worship, study, and remember Jesus through communion.
